I happened to witness a medical emergency.
Not knowing how to engage with the Ecuadorian system, starting with getting an ambulance, all the way to ensuring care and updates, I contacted VIP Home Healthcare. Honestly, I had no idea what to expect from them.
What they did was nothing short of miraculous. They showed up and handled everything. With never-ending care, they took over all fronts. Their competence, connections with the medical profession, understanding, knowledge, and professionalism are like nothing I’ve seen before.
Having witnessed this, I understand the importance of being prepared. The system here is not the same as the one I am accustomed to, and the language barrier alone left me completely helpless.
I highly recommend that you contact VIP home healthcare and make the necessary arrangements so that, should there be an emergency with your health or well-being, they will be there. I can only imagine what would have happened without them.

While dealing with a long term illness, I experienced an emergency event on May 1st of this year. Because I wear one of their emergency call alarms, I was able to summon them for immediate assistance. They arrived and quietly took over, called an ambulance, came with me to the hospital, stayed with me thru labs, x-rays, MD assessment, and finally admission.
Without their assistance, I feel very strongly that I might not still be alive. I highly recommend them and their services.

“Poulin of VIP Home Healthcare of Cuenca came to my home to give me a calcium infusion. She is very professional and pleasant. I told her I needed lab work but hesitated to go out because I am in the high-risk category for exposure to Covid-19. She arranged for a lab technician to visit me and take the blood test. They then emailed me the results so I could forward to my doctor. What a relief to meet someone like Poulin who goes out of her way to assist her clients. I intend to use her services frequently in the future and highly recommend her to anyone needing nursing or home care.“

“Recently a friend of mine had a stroke, and we called on Poulin. I don’t know how she does it, but she took care of everything – hospital visits, speaking with doctors at hospital, arranging ambulance service which she accompanied home, getting everything set up at home. Poulin went shopping with me to get all the necessary supplies for the patient, and picked up all the medications at the pharmacy. I worried about meals, light housekeeping, etc. Poulin’s service covers everything. Whenever a need arises, Poulin and her staff have been there every time. She’s a highly skilled nurse, and her well-trained staff is a pleasure to work with.
During these challenging times, if you have any health issues, I would recommend checking in with Poulin to establish a relationship. I’m sure she’s been a godsend to many.“

“On June 21st, I had full knee replacement surgery. Poulin attended my Physical Therapy sessions and other post-surgery Doctor’s appointments. As the weeks progressed and I started my physical therapy she re-enforced the regimen laid out for me by the Physical Therapist. She has been helping me to correct my posture and reminding me of the way that I should be walking. She also cooked/prepared my lunchtime meals on occasion. She has been professional throughout the whole process. I can heartily recommend her for in-home nursing care. “

“I contacted VIP Home Healthcare for help with managing the high iron levels I have in my blood. One of the ways to manage it is to have a phlebotomy done. Poulin came to my apartment and we discussed my history and the latest blood test result. We agreed a phlebotomy was in order and made an appointment to do that in the comfort of my apartment. Poulin came back a few days later and performed the phlebotomy. She was very gentle and very caring. I felt I was in good hands. Since then I check my iron levels on a regular basis and when they get too high I contact Poulin and we do another phlebotomy. “I have responded to other posts but have not written my own personal recommendation. I have used Poulin/Pauline and the team at VIP Home Health Care every week for more than a year (Physical Therapy/Balance, Elder Care). The professionalism and care of this home healthcare team is unparalleled. They give our family comfort that in the event of any medical emergency and/or post surgery care, they will work hand in hand with our Dr. so we may be treated in the comfort of our own home. The team has also served as in-house, overnight support for our senior while we travel.
Since working with Pauline every week in physical therapy, the improvement in my knees and mobility (bone on bone) has been dramatic and enabled me to thus far avoid surgery. Likewise, my 84-year old sister has experienced greater mobility and balance.
